I’ve always thought that older cats possess the best traits of their species without the crazier tendencies of their young counterparts.

Meet Freida
Freida is a thirteen year old girl who is up to date on shots, spayed, and declawed. At the shelter she likes to hang out with the staff around the adoption desk. Wouldn’t you like to bring her home with you?

Spring is getting closer, which means kitten and puppy season is coming. If you know anyone who has pets that aren’t spayed or neutered, why not mention the many low cost spay/neuter programs offered at shelters and veterinary hospitals in many states and countries?
Meet Willy
Willy was surrendered to the shelter with his brother Bean. He’s a male Shih Tzu who was born on April 29, 2009. Willy is a happy, active little guy who would love a home where he can have some fun. Haven’t you always wanted a pet Ewok?

You may have heard about Operation Sweethearts, which took place in Wingo, Kentucky on February 14. The Animal Rescue Corps worked in conjunction with the Wingo Sheriffs Department, the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society, Greystone Pet Hospital, and many volunteers to save nearly 100 dogs from Paws n’ Claws, a “rescue” organization. Colton is one of the dogs lucky enough to have made his way from Paws n’ Claws to the BGWC Humane Society…
Meet Colton
I’m not even sure if Colton is really his name, but this miniature poodle mix is labeled as ColtonF85 on his Petango page. He is approximately 4 years old, but right now I don’t have any other information. It’s likely that he isn’t gravely ill, or he probably wouldn’t have been relocated to the shelter so soon after being rescued. He should be up for adoption soon! Can you give this doe-eyed little guy a home?

I was inspired to sketch another barnyard animal after finding out that Ash and Nikki will be adopting chickens this year!
Meet Thor the Chicken of Thunder
Thor is a large, friendly rooster who was picked up as a stray in Chicago (roaming the streets and calling down lightning on people eating chicken nuggets, perhaps?). He was de-beaked at some point in his life, but that doesn’t detract from his good looks! He was rescued from animal control and is looking for a loving home.

Meet Daphne
Daphne is a young female farm pig – not a pot-bellied pig – so she will get big some day! She loves playing with her blue bouncy ball, soaking in the pool, walking on leash, and getting belly rubs. She’s a real goofball around meal times, running and jumping all over the place in excitement! Daphne needs a loving forever home with some room to accommodate her adult size. Do you know anyone who could use a sweet piggy in his or her life?
