Today’s featured pup was brought to the shelter where I lived until a few months ago. I wish I could be there to somehow help this baby or find those responsible for his condition, but this is all I can do from here. Please help him if you can.
Meet Malachi
Little Malachi is a male pit bull, between 6 and 8 months old. He was found on the side of the road after having been dragged behind a vehicle until the chain around his neck broke. He lost 30-50% of the skin on his body, as well as a lot of blood. Malachi is being cared for at Greystone Pet Hospital, where the doctors have cleaned and bandaged his extensive wounds and have him on fluids, pain killers, and antibiotics. It’s still uncertain if Malachi will even make it, but you can go to Greystone’s Facebook page see a video of him and keep up on his condition.
Malachi is obviously not available for adoption at this time, but please help him and other abused animals in any way you can. Share Malachi’s story, donate to his Chip-In, volunteer at your local shelter to walk and socialize the animals there, teach your children empathy towards others, call law-makers to demand stronger legal punishment for those who abuse animals. Every one of us must act to show that our society values the well-being of animals and will not tolerate their mistreatment.
