365DAA 2012 Day 5: The Pedigree Foundation

We have had the pleasure of working with today’s group for the past three years and we love them, from the cause right down to the people. Remember the “Write a Post, Save a Dog” blog? Yeah. They’re awesome. They have a passion for animal welfare and do all they can for rescues and shelters who need a little help. And, let’s just admit it, they have THE best dog commercials on TV. “Do not pity a shelter dog, adopt one.”

Put your paws together for The Pedigree Foundation!

Day 5: The Pedigree Foundation

About The Pedigree Foundation

Through no fault of their own, more than four million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations every year, and nearly half of them never find a place to call home. Our mission is to help those dogs by providing grants to 501(c)(3) shelters and rescue groups—and by encouraging dog adoption.

The Foundation has its roots in The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive, a campaign initiated in 2005 by PEDIGREE® Brand. This annual adoption drive—active in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland—has helped raise awareness of, and funds for, dogs in need. The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive was also featured in an episode of the hit TV series The Celebrity Apprentice®. In 2007, PEDIGREE® Brand created The PEDIGREE Foundation to further help the cause.

Your link came up on my facebook newsfeed so I’m assuming I’ve visited your page before and ‘liked’ it. Reading this article sounds wonderful and I plan to find out more of how and what you are doing. I don’t have an actual shelter yet, but hope to have someday/ My focus is more on felines than canines although I do love all animals. Cats just happen to be my favorite. The over population and abandonment problems are horrible in the USA and other countries as well I believe.
I would like to find out more about how I can help your cause for more than one reason. One, because it is a worthy cause and I do care so much. Like me you’ve began making people aware and I plan on emailing you to see what assistance I can bring. Two, I’d love to see what type ideas possibly I could incorporate your ideas to add interest and awareness to my own site, which is mostly informative stuff, but I haven’t really came up with a course of action to help. Beside adopting animals myself, I’m at my limit now-3 cats.
I am looking forward to hearing more about how people can help you with your cause.
Thanks for taking such a interest in saving these souls who have been born without a home of their own right away, we all need someone to love.
