365DAA Day 35: Winter Park Lost Pets

It’s a sad fact that some times an animal can go missing. Thankfully, there are groups like today’s organization that make it easier to bring together a lost pet and their owner. Winter Park Lost Pets gives you the resources to both find a lost pet and let others knew when you have found a dog a cat. We are very thankful to groups like this one and we’re happy to support them!

About Winter Park Lost Pets

One of the most important things you can do when you lose or find a pet is to get the word out quickly to as many people in the immediate area as possible. CoFounders and owners Shelley Heistand and Judy Charuhas provide a FREE community service website helps make that possible.

At Winter Park Lost Pets you can post a lost or found pet and get an immediate flyer to hand out. Plus, the website sends an immediate email alert when a pet is lost or found. Area residents can register for these free alerts at the website.

Winter Park Lost Pets also provides pet resources: lost and found pet kits, pet care and training, a growing list of rescue groups, pet events, recall alerts and a list of local veterinarians. There is no fee for its services.

In addition to our community service, we raise funds for rescue groups, have a list of rescue groups online as a resource and whenever all attempts to locate a found pets owner has failed we assist the “findee” with placing the pet with a rescue rather than a local shelter. Our goal for 2011 is microchipping of pets, education about rescue groups and low cost spay and neuter clinic alliances.
