365DAA Day 16: Chequamegon Humane Association
A lot of the shelters and rescues we’ve showcased are ones that we don’t have any personal ties with. Some we volunteer for, and some, like today’s group, are ones that have a special place in our hearts. You see that cartoon pup in the top right of our website? That’s our mascot Spunky and he’s in today’s picture because he came from the Chequamegon Humane Association back in 2005. He’s been with Ash since he was six months old (and he’s seven years now). Both of us used to volunteer for this group when we went to college and I miss walking the dogs on the trails behind the shelter. It is a great place and one we are very proud to showcase.

About the Chequamegon Humane Association
The Chequamegon Humane Association (CHA) is a non-profit organization in Ashland, WI dedicated to finding homes for cats and dogs who, through no fault of their own, have been rendered homeless.
At CHA we believe that every pet is entitled to have a long, healthy life full of love. That is why each year we provide shelter, toys, food, water, spaying/neutering, age appropriate vaccinations, parasite control, screening tests, and affection to over 200 homeless cats and dogs in the Chequamegon Bay area. Until these furry friends find their forever home, we are here to care for them.
