Shelter Sketches: Meet Hood

A few words for our lovely resident Shelter Sketcher: “I searched for dogs in Miami, FL, and there are SO many. Most of them (like little Hood, for example) didn’t even have anything written up about them aside from the basics of species, sex, and age. It’s so sad.” It is sad. And frustrating. In this day and age, shelters, organizations, and other rescue groups desperately need to embrace the internet. It helps. It brings families together with those animals that need them. It’s become the number one way of gaining information about something and communicating. If they don’t effectively communicate online and share with people information about the dogs and cats and other creatures that they are housing, than that is a tragedy to those same animals who are depending on them. We have to be their voice.

Anyway, on with the sketch!

Meet Hood!

He is what looks to be a very very sweet brindle puppy that needs to find his forever home. Just take a look at these soulful eyes. Does he have a place in your family?

Chelsea Conlin is a freelance fantasy illustrator, but if she can help spread the word about animals in need with her skills, she’s more than happy to do so! She currently lives in Kentucky with her husband where they do what they can by driving dog rescue transports on weekends. They have two dogs of their own: a rescue greyhound named Storm and a mixed breed named Azu. You can find her at Paper Nautilus, her sketchblog, twitter, and deviantart.
