Guilt, anger, woulda-shoulda-coulda thoughts are part of the process, but as the others said, try to go easy on yourself in this difficult time. I know that it seems impossible now, but time will help heal. I know that Brody had a wonderful life in your care. You did everything you could to train him. Please try to be gentle on yourself, it really was not your fault. I know how hard it is to convince yourself...all the what ifs and I should haves. You gave him a chance at a happy life, you rescued him! Sadly, he was too young to listen and too young to understand what might happen. You love him and he knew it. Try to take some comfort in that. You will see him again at the rainbow bridge. I know you'd much rather see him now. At least he is happy and safe. Again, so very sorry for your loss. Oh how very sad.
